On Using the NAPAA Directory...

The NAPAA Directory is set up as a platform to facilitate the Australian neurodivergent community's access to professionals from diverse backgrounds who committed to creating a safe space for neurodivergent individuals seeking professional services. NAPAA does not endorse for, nor assert any authority to govern, the conduct of any professional members because we believe that only the clients/patients could determine their goodness of fit with any particular professionals based on their personal experiences. We seek to empower, not disempower, the neurodivergent community. Individuals using the NAPAA Directory is encouraged to read through the professionals' profiles, especially the section that requires professionals to state how their practice is neuro-affirming, to discern compatibility and decide who to reach out to, if at all.

Nevertheless, NAPAA requires that all professional members hold active registrations with their respective national governing bodies (e.g., AHPRA, ACA, AASW, etc.) over the course of their memberships, and to provide their registration details at the time of membership application to be verified before membership approval. For select professions where a mandatory national registration does not exist, NAPAA requires proof of qualifications to be presented during membership application. Regardless, if any member of the public has grave concerns about the practice of any NAPAA members (e.g., if they have reasonable cause to believe a professional poses a significant risk to public safety), or is aware of an unreported registration suspension of a NAPAA member, please contact us at info@napaaustralia.org.
