Terms & Conditions
1. Where Your Writing May Be Published
If your submission is selected for publication, it may appear in the following NAPAA platforms:
-
The Resources tab of the NAPAA website, an accumulation of resources for the general public.
-
The NAPAA e-newsletter, emailed to subscribers.
-
In the future, selected articles may also be published in NAPAA’s print and/or digital magazine.
By submitting your work, you agree that it may be published in any or all of the above formats.
2. Audience & Content Guidelines
NAPAA generally accepts submissions only from NAPAA professional members, who must submit informational, educational, or practical articles that align with the needs of the neurodivergent community and the professionals who support them. These submissions, if chosen, will be published as educational resources for the public on the NAPAA website and other platforms.
Articles should be:
✅ Informational or educational, OR
✅ Focused on providing practical tips and strategies.
We encourage a neuro-affirming and inclusive approach, acknowledging the diversity of neurodivergent experiences.
2.1 Exception for Lived Experience Submissions:
We welcome submissions from any neurodivergent individual (whether or not they are a member of NAPAA) for the Lived Experience section. These submissions can include personal stories, reflections, and insights on neurodivergent experiences. While submissions for the Lived Experience section are open to the public, all other content must come from NAPAA professional members.
2.1.1. Aim
NAPAA is committed to amplifying the voices of the neurodivergent community. The Lived Experience section is designed to give neurodivergent individuals the opportunity to tell their stories, share their challenges and triumphs, and offer personal insights that will benefit others in the community.
2.1.2 Submission Guidelines
- You may choose to have your article published under your full name or an alias for privacy reasons. However, for record-keeping purposes, we require you to provide your full name and email address upon submission.
You are encouraged to share your story or experiences in an informal or narrative style, though please keep in mind that the content must still be informational or educational to be beneficial to the community.
2.1.3 Hyperlinks to Socials/Business Websites
Lived experience submissions are primarily about sharing personal insights and stories. Therefore, we do not allow hyperlinks to social media accounts or personal business websites to be included in the article itself, unless explicitly agreed upon by the editorial team. This ensures that the focus remains on the content and not personal promotion.
However, if you are a professional member of NAPAA, hyperlinks to your business or professional website will be included with your article, following the same guidelines for professional submissions.
2.1.4 Additional Notes
-
If you choose to submit your lived experience piece anonymously or under an alias, please note that you must be willing to communicate privately with the NAPAA editorial team for any clarifications or follow-up, especially for record-keeping.
-
Lived experience submissions that are accepted for publication will be featured in the Lived Experience section of the Resources tab on NAPAA’s website and may be included in the NAPAA newsletter or future publications.
